PROMPT

As prompt you are on hand to offer help when an actor dries or misses a cue. You will need to know and understand the script well prior to your arrival at rehearsals, which will be once the cast are working without their scripts. As rehearsals progress, enter any cuts/changes into your script as advised by the Director. Mark all pauses/beats in the action and dialogue so you will not be giving prompts too soon or unnecessarily.

It is essential that the cast has complete confidence in the prompt, so you must follow the script exactly, give any prompts required in a clear loud voice, enough to carry to the actor.
